Why are family and consumer sciences classes important?

​

These classes are important because they teach students life skills that they will use later in life, like cooking and sewing. They are especially helpful if you are planning to go into a career like elementary education, dietitian, an FCS teacher, or want to work in human resources. Some of the classes Cross County offers are Early Childhood Services, Foods, Interpersonal Relationships, Human Development, and middle school FCS.

Why is FCCLA beneficial?

FCCLA is very beneficial for practical thinking, creative and critical thinking, character development, leadership skills, interpersonal communications, and career preparation. It allows you to better communicate with people and obtain critical leadership skills for college and future careers.  By being involved in FCCLA you are given opportunities to make a positive difference in your community and bring awareness to organizations that you are passionate about.
